How Investment Returns are Calculated
Investment returns are calculated using these formulas:
Total Return = ((Current Value - Total Investment) / Total Investment) × 100%
Where Total Investment = Initial Investment + Net Contributions
Annualized Return = (1 + Total Return)^(1/n) - 1
Where n = Investment Period in years
Real Return = ((1 + Total Return) / (1 + Inflation Rate) - 1) × 100%
Adjusts returns for the impact of inflation
Time-Weighted Return = (Current Value / Total Investment)^(1/n) - 1
Measures compound growth rate independent of cash flows
